Montblanc Masters of Art Homage to Pierre-Auguste Renoir 4810 Rollerball

Pierre-Auguste Renoir (*25 February 1841 in Limoges; †3 December 1919 in Cagnes-sur-Mer) is one of the most important French Impressionists. He began his artistic career as a porcelain painter in Paris and studied under Charles Gleyre from 1861 onwards, before painting outdoors with Claude Monet, Alfred Sisley, and Frédéric Bazille, thus shaping the plein air style. Later, he developed a more contoured, classical style and, despite suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, remained extremely productive until the end of his life – his oeuvre comprises around 6,000 paintings, including classics such asThe Great BathersundDancing at the Moulin de la Galette.

Edition 4810 pays tribute to Renoir's incomparable play with color and light. The clip, shaped like two paintbrushes, is gold-plated and delicately designed, evoking his delicate details and generous areas of color. A ring of ultramarine blue precious resin frames the cap top, proudly displaying the white Montblanc emblem in the center. The year "1874" is emblazoned on the cap ring, a reference to the first Impressionist exhibition. The 18-carat gold nib is adorned with a finely engraved fan motif with two fringes, inspired by Renoir's female portraits. The nib cone contains a soft silver tip (Ag925), which enables the Silverpoint drawing technique.
